The Main Inspiration On The Axcelspring Washer Cup

The 70's GT truck was the first to have a built in sleeve on there skateboard trucks back then this was state of the art for it's time and for today. Bring back something that made so much sense is way I design skateboard parts for today.

People asking for more with less!!!!

There has been a lot of talk about the cost of our washer's being to muck for the market. Some people want more for less. After seeing what has been said about what I am doing for the skateboard market and the pressure from some small time no back bone week ass's I figured I would explain. After talking with Scott at Muir skate shop. He said you should make these for my skate shop and I will sell them. At first the cost was to high for Scott to except so I was asked around and found a local machine shop that could make them and bring the cost down by doing a bigger order. I did that and we have what we have on the cost of the washers. IT takes a lot to get these made. First is the high cost of the materials then there is a high setup fee and machine time add that all together with packing and a sticker and the stainless steel star washers and my time and labor. Then mark them down to sell them to skate shops and you will find you are just breaking even on all of it. People really we get a 25 cent part on all of our stock truck really. Having a machine shop make as big a run as I could and then sell them to shops. I don't think anyone can know how much it would cost you to start from scratch and have a machine shop make them. Then spend a lot more money on them to have them made. Making it sound like I am all about the money is not right either. All I want is to bring skateboards to the next level that all of you have asked me for. On the smaller runs that I have done I have to do all the extra work of de-burring and the tumbling that is extra labor that is added into the cost of each washer cup. (Machine shops are not cheap!!) Ask anyone who works at one and see how much it would cost.

West Hem Roll : Review of Axclespring Washer Cups

West Hem Roll recently did a review of Axcelspring Washer Cups. Skaters are starting to realize that skateboard washers can make gigantic difference int the way your trucks and bushings perform.
Longboarders take note, your board wants a set of these for Christmas, except it can't read or write to write Santa a little note! ;)

West Hem Roll review:

Bustin Boards Jeff Vyain - on the Axcelspring Washer Cups

"I have some of these washers on my Grennett and I have to say I am feeling the same thing. Feels as precise as things have ever felt."
Jeff Vyain

Quoted from Pavedwave.org

We're getting some great feedback on the new machined precision washer cups, people who are riding them are loving them. We have some more shops across the US that will be carrying them soon. We will be adding their links to the Axcelspring Washer Cups page as soon as they receive them and are ready to ship them to customers. Thanks to Jeff Vyain for riding on our Grennett and the washer cups, Jeff is a ripping fast rider for Bustin Boards out in New York. Jeff also won the first Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon.

Secret Long Distance Pumping Spot - Shhhhh!

Thane Magee hoists his Griffin Cone Killer board in the air, over feeling of the new spot we found last year. This place is the perfect little LDP path, out of the way, with virtually no one on it for miles. Smooth, with a few little zippy sections from some rolls in the terrain. Needless to say, this place was made for skating.

Axcelspring Washer Cups - Skateboard Truck Washers

Warning! These washers are going to make things too fun! If you like rebound, you'll love these!
Just for the record so there is no confusion, our Axcelspring washer cups are still considered washers. Skateboard washer and washer cups are two things that the same but not the same. But these aren't washer cups in the normal sense of the word. These are like flat skateboard washers, with an internal sleeve that fits inside the bushing for a tight fit. They're still washers, but we call em washer cups, but you can call them washers, it makes no difference.
Longboards, shortboards, downhill, LDP, slalom, freeriding, cruising, sidewalk surfing, it doesn't matter how you skate, these will help take things to the next level for you.
Many skaters underestimate the importance of the role that washers "washer cups" play in the delicate balance between the baseplate, the hanger, the washers, the bushings, the kingpin and the nut. The washers have a huge impact on the way a bushing reacts. Look at Bones Hardcores, they are great bushings for a reason. These washer cups create a super tight fit and hug the kingpin with Swiss watch fit. Once everything is tightened up and ready to roll, you will feel an immediate improvement in the way your trucks turn and rebound. Check em out!

Griffin Delrin Pivot Cups

We've been so busy lately working getting the Axclespring Washer Cups ready out to the world, and working on out upcoming Horseshoe bracket. We didn't get the chance to really pimp our precision Delrin Pivot cups. We're currently offering them for Bennett trucks, and for our Grennett models These are machined from high quality Delrin stock to exact tolerances and make a huge difference in the performance of your Bennett trucks. There is a lip on the top of the cup to make them easier to remove with a flat head screwdriver. When you combine these with a polished and smooth pivot, and a little Griffin Grease, they feel like a poor-mans ball pivot truck. Extremely effective for LDP, slalom, and any sort of pumping. We're selling these for $10.00 for (1) pivot cup, plus shipping. Once you try them you'll wonder how you rode without them in the first place. Our quest for for a precise responsive ride never ends.......... Happy skating!

Axcelspring washer cups

BY rickbob on the fish's, Got a 1/8" bs and 1/16" rs on my 5.0, love the setup. So locked, absolutely no slop anywhere. Fit like a dream on the new aircraft-grade kingpin I just put on as well.
Of course I was tweaking other things at the same time (bushings, foot stop placement) so I didn't do a 'scientific' before-and-after with just the washer cups, however I would definitely buy them again, they rock! Great product! I honestly don't ride that many miles (yet?) but I got in a couple 3.5 milers so far with these and I know I won't ever take them off. fwiw Mermaid, 5.0, Seismic 130, Atobe purp/pink wheels...

Resistance Trainer Skateboard for LDP And Long Distance Pushing.

After training for my first 26.2 mile Adrenalina Marathon Race. I decided to set up a resistance trainer skateboard for LDP and long distance pushing. This set up is to make you work out harder on this set up then your LDP race set up or long distance push race set up. After thinking about what would work I looked around at all the extra skateboard leftovers that I never use. Most of the time these things just collect dust instead for being used. For me I like to test out everything and make us out of it all. For most of you might think that using these things is just lame and gay. Why would you use any of this kind of stuff for anything. Well Sometimes people make skateboards, wheels, trucks, risers, bushings, bearings ,decks that can be used for more then one kind of us. We just need to except that as the evolution of skateboards, longboards, shortboards, things are going to change. Look at all the skate shops around the USA now they are all selling longboards as a main stream thing now. Four years ago this was not expectable. If we do not except this, skateboards will stay the way people want it. I feel sorry for these people because there is more to offer in this (Sport) that it is becoming. (Don't hate what you don't understand).

The History Of GriffinSK8

The History Of GriffinSK8
I have given you a vary brief description of what I have done on my web site. Now you will get to know me a little better. In 1992 I would go to my grand mothers house for Sunday dinner or come over to do the laundry and visit Grann's. One weekend I came over and went to a garage sale down the street. So I decided to go down and see what they had to sell. Walked into this house on La Jolla Blv and saw around five longboard skateboards leaning against the wall. There was a hand painted 9 ball on the board. The deck was made out of construction grade fir ply wood. I asked one of the guys if these where for sale he said no. But he did say I am starting a skateboard company I said me to. Sector 9 before they started out. In 1993 Sector 9 started the company and there work shop was a warehouse in Sorrento Valley. I got a summer job across the street from them, at a computer parts warehouse. I was asked to detail my boss's Porsche and watched the S9 boys pump out skateboards. I few years later I had a job in down town La Jolla. I lived in a one bedroom close to work, so I would skate to work all the time. I went to work at three in the afternoon and went the back way threw the alley, witch I never did. Next to the parking garage where five or six guys where hitting the garage that day. I rolled up on them and they gave me the nickname skater chef.

Axcelspring History.

50's home made
70'Hooker headers

Axcelspring
Torsion suspension system,
This system has been around longer then you would think. We have found a skateboard that is from the 50's that has all the right bone's. Most of the older systems are made with the system on the bottom of the board. In the early days the technology was not there to build it inside the deck. We have found some skateboards that where patented in the 70's that where made and in production.
http://www.google.com/patents?id=mccvAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA5&dq=skateboard+bushing&hl=en#v=onepage&q=skateboard%20bushing&f=false

Description of the modern system.
The Axcelspring™ System is a torsion suspension, spring and absorption system for skateboards. Cars and motorcycles have suspension systems, why can't a skateboard? The Axcelspring™ System is built into the skateboard deck and is designed to alleviate the pressure that skateboarding puts on your hips, knees, ankles and back. This system can lessen the impact of hard landings and prevents repetitive stress injuries common among skaters.
Standard skateboards have cross grains to give pop and snap to the board, but no connection from the front truck to the rear truck. The Axcelspring™ inner core connects the front and back trucks to make them work together. This allows you to turn tighter, faster and harder. It helps you land tricks at harder angles and gives you more pop, snap and spring. The Axcelspring™ System absorbs the noise and friction of rough road conditions such as rocks, dips, bumps and gravel, handicap ramps and bumper to give you a smoother quieter ride. The spring is also designed to help propel you on small hills and sloped streets, giving you perpetual motion. This makes it easier to increase your distance and speed.

Trade mark description,
A skateboard deck formed of laminated layers having increased twisting resistance around its center axis provided by fiber reinforced polymer matrix composite members running along the center axis and cross members extending toward side edges. Side members positioned between pairs of cross members provide additional torque resistance and energy storage for use in springing the board.

What Other Trucks Do You Specialize In??

Almost any truck can be modified in a big way or a small way with me.
I first started working on vintage skate board trucks that
needed replacement parts to make them look like they did in the
50's 60's 70's 80's 90's and today.
I can almost replace any hard to find part to fit a odd truck out there.
I also like to take on special projects old or new.
The main trucks that I like to work on are.
Bennett's
Tracker
Indy
Randals
Ace
All of these trucks I can make delrin parts
Machining, change the king pins and more.
I have come to a point where I have even machining
out the kingpins so these a longer shafts and
less threads to mess up to the bushings.
Here are my costume names for them
Grennett
TrackInn
Grindy
Grandal
Grace

So Why Should I Modify A $27.95 Truck??

It's more like why not!!
First good reason is because Bennett's are made by one of the oldest forgeries out there and still made in the USA SureGrip.
The material are the best out there so the truck will last if you take care of it.
This truck can turn like no other truck out there.
It will only cost a little amount of money to get the truck up to a racing truck caliber.
You can spend the least amount of money or the most amount of money.
You will be able to get the replacement parts when ever you want and the cost is not that much as other race trucks.
Pick and chose with what you want to spend.
